DEADLINE EXTENDED: Submit a Nomination for the Abeles and Jencks Award
Submit a nomination today for the Abeles and Jencks Award for the Chemistry of Biological Processes! Administered by the Division of Biochemistry and Chemical Biology (BIOL) of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the purpose of this award is to acknowledge and encourage outstanding contributions to the understanding of the chemistry of biological processes, with particular emphasis on structure, function, and mechanism. Established in 1985 and formerly known as the Repligen Corporation Award, this honor was later endowed in honor of two past recipients: Robert H. Abeles (awarded in 1988) and William P. Jencks (awarded in 1996). Read more about the award’s history.
Nominations for the 2026 award will be accepted on or before the extended deadline of July 14, 2025. Nominations should emphasize the candidate’s research contributions and impact on the field of biological chemistry. The nomination letter (approximately 1000 words, recommended font size 12 pt), seconding letters (up to three, approximately 500 words each, recommended font size 12 pt), and the candidate’s CV or biosketch (4 pages maximum) should be submitted as a single PDF file to the Division Secretary, Chris Whitman, at the email address below.
