Enzymology Meetings

Enzymology is a key interest of many of the members of the Division of Biological Chemistry. There are several national and regional conferences that highlight advances in our understanding of enzyme structure, function and mechanism.

UPCOMING EVENTS

14th Annual Southeast Enzyme Conference

April 27, 2024

Georgia State University
Atlanta, GA

The Southeast Enzyme Conference (SEC), a one-day annual event. The conference will feature talks by faculty, post-doctoral scholars, and graduate and undergraduate students selected from submitted abstracts. The conference will include poster sessions to facilitate discussion and collaborative interactions between scientists from all career stages. The meeting strongly encourages the participation of students and postdoctoral associates and provides opportunities for discussions and networking. Registration and abstract submission is now open—deadlines vary. See website for more info.

21st International Flavins and Flavoproteins Symposium

July 15-19, 2024

Georgia State University
Atlanta, GA

The 21st International Symposium on Flavins and Flavoproteins will take place July 15-19, at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. From spectroscopy, synthesis and catalytic mechanisms, through enzyme engineering, evolution and signaling, to human medicine. Flavins feature in essentially all aspects of biological chemistry, making this a broad meeting despite its flavin-focus. This meeting occurs only once every three years. Currently accepting proposals for contributed talks. Submit your science for an oral presentation with registration or with your abstract submission. Abstracts are due by May 15, 2024.

Gordon Research Conference: Enzymes, Coenzymes and Metabolic Pathways

July 28-August 2, 2024

Waterville Valley
Waterville Valley, NH

The 2024 Gordon Research Conference on Enzymes, Coenzymes and Metabolic Pathways will highlight a broad range of topics from chemical biology, biocatalysis, mechanism and function of enzymes, to therapeutic applications in enzymology. The theme is, “New Methods in Enzymology and Chemical Biology to Aid the Study of Mechanisms and Metabolic Pathways” Speakers participating at this conference will include established and emerging leaders from academia and industry to promote diverse perspectives and inspire stimulating and productive discussions. There will be opportunities for oral presentations chosen from submitted poster abstracts. This conference will afford scientists from various research areas the opportunity to explore new ideas and approaches in enzymology through stimulating scientific exchange. Applications for the meeting are now open and must be submitted by June 30, 2024.
